Runthisreactionbetweensay4and8.5kbar,andseehowitis“seen”(indicatedbymodal

informationbeinggiven)onlyinapartofitslength.Thisishardlysurprisinggivenhowquickly

theFe-Mgoftheminerals(“x”)changewithpressurealongthereaction.

LookatthemodalinformationandsketchinPTwhichdivariantsabuttheunivariantoneach

side.Notethatthermocalchasgotthemodalinformationthewrongwayaroundforthis

univariant(notlow-T,thenhigh-T).Nowworkoutwhichtrivariantsareinvolvedats

ofthe“seen”partoftheunivariant,andalongeachsideofit.Nowcalculatethedivariant-

trivariantboundariesthatareinvolved,andsketchwhatthepseudesectionlookslike.Nowadd

theinformationtothedrawpddatafile“drdp4”,specifyingthepartofeachlinethatshould

bedrawn.
