14.Synaesthesia移觉、通感Synaesthesiaisuseofonesensetoconveytheexperienceofanothersense.E.g.theimage“coolnessofblue”containsatransferappealbetweenthesensesofsightandtouch.

SynaesthesiaItisamixingofsensations,theconcurrent(一致的)appealtomorethanonesense,ortheresponsethroughseveralsensestothestimulationofone;or“thestimulationofonesensebyanother”(P.H.Mattews).

FiveSensesThesenseofsight,Thesenseofhearing,Thesenseofsmell,Thesenseoftaste,Thesenseoftouch.

SynaesthesiaIngeneral,weseewithoureyes,wehearwithourear,wesmellwithournose,wetastewithourtongue,andwetouchwithourbody.Ingeneral,weseewithoureyes,wehearwithourears,wesmellwithournose,wetastewithourtongue,andwetouchwithourbody.

SynaesthesiaButinpractice,sometimesthereisnoclear-cutdividinglinebetweendifferentsenses;colorscanbeheard,smellsmaybeseen,temperaturesseemsonorous,soundsappearphysical.

SynaesthesiaWhenwesay“thecoldeye”,“saltymusic”,or“softsmell”,wearecertainlyusingsynaesthesia.Synaesthesiacanbeusedtomakeourexpressionsmorevivid,lively,imaginableandsuggestive.
