andcarryingironrodsstonesandwoodenclubsenteredthecampusandlaunched

anattack.Howeverthecityspolicefailedtoprovideprotection.Inmid-December

policeenteredtwoofIndiasolderuniversitiesandstudentswerebeatenproperty

wasdamagedandteargasused.Bothinstitutionshadtoclosetemporarilydisrupting

teachingandresearch.JamiaMilliasvice-chancellorsaidthatitisnotacceptablefor

policetoharminnocentstudents.
