•TheESOWisacontractualdocumentdefiningproductdevelopment

assignmentsgiventoasupplier.Itstatestheengineeringworkwhichthesupplierwillperformanddefineswhatthesupplierhastodeliverwithintheprojectscope.

•OneimportantpartofthedocumentisclarificationofrolesandresponsibilitiesbetweenthesupplierandVolvoCars.

•ThetemplateisapprovedbyeveryfunctionwithinVolvoCarsincludingtheLegaldepartment.

•Byworkinginaconsistentwaythenumberoflatechangesarereduced.

WhentouseESOW?

Therearedifferentscenarioswhensourcingnewpartsinaproject.Thebaseishowthecommonalitycodereference(PMXU)forthepartisset.Dependingonclassificationthiswillgivewhattypeofcontractualdocumentthatisrequiredtosignwiththesupplier.InthefollowingslideswewilllookintodetailsforeachscenarioandwhentouseESOW.

Agreement(SA)hastobesignedwiththesupplier.FinalcontractualdocumentsignedwiththesupplierisCommercialProgramAgreement,CPA.

2.VolvoCarsappointadirectedtier2supplier.Normallythisisdonebythetier1supplierbutinsomecasesVolvoCarswillgainifweappointthe
