Abstract.ThetypematerialofacanthodiantaxafromtheupperSilurianofEstonia,erectedbyC.PanderandV.Rohoninthe

nineteenthcentury,haslongbeenlost,andinmostcasesnoneotypeshavebeenerectedtodate.WenominatescalesofNostolepis

striataPanderandGomphonchussandelensis(Pander)fromthetypelocalityattheOhesaareCliff,SaaremaaIsland,Estonia,as

neotypesforthosetwospecies.WealsonominateareplacementneotypescaleforRadioporacanthodesbiblicus(Lehman)fromthe

vicinityofthetypelocalityatRamsåsa,southernSweden,toreplacetheinvalidneotypefromaboreholeonSaaremaaIsland.The

validityanddistributionofGomphonchusvolborthi(Rohon)isconsidered,andaneotypeandtypestratum(theLudlowBoneBed,

Shropshire)aredesignated.Specimenrepositorydetails,wherenotprovidedintheoriginaldescriptions,arelistedforother

acanthodianscale-basedtaxafromtheBalticSeaRegion.
