TheNationalAssociationofMusicMerchants(NAMM)researchestheeffects(影响)ofmusiconchildren.Theyfoundthatplayingmusichaspositiveeffectsonthinkingskillsandconfidence.“Learningmusicalskillscanalsohelpinyourstudiesofothersubjects,suchasmath,readingandlanguage,”LoraBodmer,whoworksatNAMMsaid.Theirstudiesalsoshowedthatmusiccanhelppeopleformfriendshipsandconnectwithdifferentgroups.

EachyearasongismadeforMusicMonday.PeopleacrossNorthAmericawillplayorsingthissongattheexactsametime.Theperformanceismeanttoconnectpeoplethroughmelody(旋律).

Schools,after-schoolprograms,organizationsandindividuals(个人)throughouttheU.S.andCanadacanalltakepartinMusicMonday.AMMalsoencouragespeopletopickupanyinstrumentandplayanytimeontheday.

“Playingamusicalinstrumentisnotabouthowgoodyouare,”Bodmersaid.“Itsabouthavingfunandenjoyingtheadvantagesthatcomewithit.”
