Ankeenduckhunterwantedtobuyanewbirddog.Hissearchendedwhenhefoundadogthatcouldactuallywalkonwatertoretrieveaduck.Shockedbyhisfind,hewassurenoneof

hisfriendswouldeverbelievehim.’

Hedecidedtotrytobreakthenewstoafriendofhis,andinvitedhimtohuntwithhimandhisnewdog.Astheywaitedbytheshore,aflockofducksflewby.Theyfired,andaduckfell.

Thedogrespondedandjumpedintothewater.Thedog,however,didnotsinkbutinsteadwalkedacrossthewatertoretrievethebird,never.gettingmorethanhispawswet.This

alldaylong;eachtimeaduckfell,thedogwalkedacrossthesurfaceofthewatertoretrieveit.

Thefriendwatchedcarefully,saweverything,butdidnotsayasingleword.

Onthedrivehomethehunteraskedhisfriend,Didyounoticeanythingunusualaboutmynewdog?Isuredid,respondedhisfriend.Hecan’tswim!
