TheStoryBridgeprogrambuildsonthecommunityperformancemodelandincorporatesthe
fourcriticalempowermentpathwaysidentifiedbyDr.Weiinherresearch.Theprogram
effectivelyincreasesthelevelofsocialandpsychologicalassetsandbuildsessentialskillsof

performance.Theartistswillcreatewiththecommunityastageperformanceofthe
community’sstoriesperformedbytheyouthandgenerationsofyourcommunity.Afterthe
initialdemonstrationandtrainingproject,theprogram--underthecommunity’sleadershipand
withourguidance--willcontinueregularlyintheformofafterschoolclasses.Suchclasses(or
otherformsasthecommunitydesires)willengagetheyouthinculturalstoryhering,
collaborativecreativity,presentationofself,andcommunityperformance.Ifdesired,Story
Bridgeseniorartistswillreturnperiodicallytoassistinthepreparationofnewtheatrical
performancesbasedincommunitystories.
