ThispaperemployscorrelationanalysisandmultiplelinearregressiontechniquestoinvestigatethecurrentstatusandforecastoftheChinesepetindustry,theforecastofglobalpetfooddemand,theanalysisofChinesepetfoodproductionandexport,andtheimpactofinternationaltradepolicies.TheseanalysesareconductedfromtheperspectivesofboththeChineseandglobalpetfoodmarkets.Theobjectiveistofurnishtheindustrywithscientificsupportforitsfuturedevelopmentbyforecastingthetrajectoryofthepetindustry.

Forquestion1,ThispaperpresentsaforecastoftheChinesepetindustryforthenextthreeyears.Inregardtodatapreprocessing,thispaperestablishesanindicatorsystemforthedevelopmentofthepetindustryandemploysdescriptivestatistics,binningandinterpolation,normalization,andothermethodstocleanandoptimizethedata.Onthisbasis,amultivariatelinearregressionmodelisemployedtoanalysetheprojectedtrajectoryofChinaspetindustry.Overthepastfiveyears,thenumberofpetcatsinChinahasincreasedatarapidrate,whilethenumberofpetdogshasexhibitedrelativelylittlechange.Themodelpredictionsindicatethatthenumberofpetcatswillincreasefrom79.82millionin2024to100.45millionin2026,whilethenumberofpetdogswillstabiliseatapproximately50.35millionoverthesameperiod.Ithasbeendemonstratedthatthemarketforpetcatshasthepotentialforgreatergrowth.
