11.01AGENERALREQUIREMENTS

(1)Workersengagedinlayingpaversorpavingblocksshallhavesatisfactorily

completedatleast14hoursoftrainingforevery3yearsonlayingofpavers

andpavingblocksconductedbytheConstructionIndustryTraining

AuthorityorotherequivalentinstitutionasapprovedbytheEngineer.

(2)Intheeventthatsuchtrainingcoursesarenotreadilyavailable,the

ContractorshallmaketheirownarrangementwithConstructionIndustry

TrainingAuthorityorotherequivalentinstitutionsasthecasemaybeforthe

organisationofsuchcourses.

(3)TheContractorshallmaintaintherecordsofhisworkersattendingthe

trainingcoursesinsub-clause(1)andproducedocumentaryproofofthe

trainingandidentityofthetrainedworkerforinspectionuponrequestbythe

Engineer’ssitesupervisorystaff.IftheContractorfailstoproduceevidence

ofsuchrecordforinspection,suchworkershallberegardedas“helpers”and

shallnotbeengagedinlayingpaversandpavingblocks.

(4)IntheeventthattheContractorfailstocomplywithsub-clauses(1),(2)

or(3),theEngineershalldeterminethereductionofanamountinrespectof

anylossordamagetotheEmployeroranysavingincosttotheContractor

asaresultofsuchfailureanddeductthesamefromvalueoftheworkd
