    AbstractRocksencounteredatmanyundergroundcriteriontothedatabasehasbeencarriedout.Further,the

    constructionsitesarelaminatedandexhibitdirection-predictivecapabilitiesoftheproposedcriterionhavebeen

    dependentstrengthbehavior.Itisalsoawell-establishedevaluatedbydeterminingtheerrorinestimationoftri-

    factthatthestrengthvariesinanonlinearmannerwithaxialstrengthifonlyfewtriaxialtestdataareavailable

    confiningpressure.Thereisaneedofstrengthcriterionfordeterminingthecriterionparameters.Thedatabase

    whichcouldcapturethenonlinearityaswellasthehasalsobeenbackanalyzedtoassessthecriticalcon-

    anisotropyinthetriaxialstrengthbehavioroftherocks.Itfiningpressureforanisotropicrocks.Statistically,the

    isessentialthatthecriterionshouldbesimpleandmustcriticalconfiningpressureforanisotropicrockscanbe

    involveminimumtestingtotheextentpossible.Further,takennearlyequalto1.25timesthemaximumUCS

    theparametersofthecriterionshouldhavewideaccept-(obtainedbyapplyingloadeitherparallelorperpendicular

    abilityamongthegeotechnicalfraternity.Inthepresenttoplanesofanisotropy).Itisconcludedthatreasonable

    study,anonlinearstrengthcriterionfortransverselyiso-estimatesofthetriaxia
