Zhao’sstorystartedin2014.Backthen,hisdaughterwasborn.Hismothercamefromtheirvillagetohelp.Oneday,hismothergotlostandcouldnotfindthehospital.Akindstudentwalkedherallthewaytothehospital.Zhaoneverforgotthiskindness.Afterthat,hedecidedtohelpoldpeopletoo.

Foryears,Zhaohelpedquietly.InSeptember2024,Zhaometanoldmanatasubwaystation.Themanwassickandwalkedslowly.Zhaoheldtheman’shandandhelpedhimthroughthestation.Alongtheway,otherkindpeoplejoinedin.Zhaosharedtheexperienceonline.Over11millionpeoplewatchedthevideo.Manywantedtohelptoo.ThisgaveZhaoanewidea.Insteadofhelpingpeoplealone,hedecidedtocreateabiggerhelpgroup.

InDecember2024,ZhaomadethePatCardandgaveitoutforfree.Thatsameyear,hestartedtheMutualHelpParentPact(父母互助协议).Volunteershelpedtakecareofotherpeople’sparentswhentheywerefaraway.Now,thegrouphasgrownalot.Thereareover7,600volunteersin34differentareasofChina.Theideahasevenspread(传播)toothercountrieslikeMalaysiaandCanada.

Zhaobelieveshelpingothersishelpingourselves.“OnedayI’llbeoldtoo,”hesays.“Ihopethen,someonewillcomeuptomeandask,‘Uncle,doyouneedhelp?’”
