ABSTRACT:ThisstudytakesstockofrecentdevelopmentsondigitalpaymentsinThailandandASEANmore
broadly,exploresthedriversandthepotentialbenefits,analyzesthefactorsunderlyingthefrequencyofdigital
paymentusage,anddiscussestherelevantpolicyconsiderations.ASEANcountrieshavemadesignificant
progressindevelopingdomesticandcross-borderdigitalpayments,inlinewithinitiativestoimproveregional
financialintegration.Thisanalysisprovidespreliminaryevidenceofpotentialbenefitsofadvancingregional
paymentconnectivitybyincreasinglocalcurrencyusagetostrengthenfinancialresilienceandreduce
