The development of human being is ensured through marriage, all kinds of relationships, various customs and social cultures are formed. For most people, marriage is one of the biggest events during one’s life. In addition to being a personal relationship between two people, marriage is one of society’s most important and basic institutions.The beginning of marriage is a wedding, as it is known to us all. People think a perfect start makes everything goes successfully. A wedding is far more than a ceremony, but a change for a person’s life and divine as a symbol of culture from the view of a country. This custom goes through various and long stages of development from ancient simple wedding ceremony to later complex ceremony, from feudal marriage custom to the modern free marriage custom. Marriage custom’s binding does not depend on the law, and it can not rely on science tests either, but on the force of habit, traditional culture and national psychology. China is a country with an ancient civilization and a long history, Therefore, the wedding ceremony of Chinese is elaborate and has many implicit meanings. It is deeply influenced by the complex traditional cultures and etiquettes. Although Chinese marriage customs are changing and developing all the time, the atmosphere created during the wedding is invariant?- being ceremonious, enthusiastic, jubilant and auspicious. And in western customs, Greek civilization is the base of western culture. Britain plays an important role in western history and western culture, and of course marriage custom.?In this paper I would like to make a comparative study of Chinese and Western Ceremony, such as illustrating some traditional differences between some western countries and China, and analyzing the causes deep inside
