It is an art of reproducing the exact idea of the author by means of a language different from the original which covers a very broad range. As far as the form of expression is concerned, translation is classified as oral interpretation, written translation and machine translation. In terms of languages themselves, it can be classified as from native language to foreign language and vice versa. In terms of the categorical coverage, it is classified as the translation of scientific materials; translation of literary works and translation of political essays. In this thesis we mainly deal with the translation from English to Chinese. Translating consists in reproducing the receptor language with the closest natural equivalent of the source language message, firstly in terms of meaning and secondly in terms of style. In the process of translating the translator must bring out the original meaning both comprehensively and accurately without any distortion or casual addition or deletion of the original thought to make the translation readable and understandable to the readers Translation, generally speaking, and to make the transcript have a refined quality of gracefulness and good taste.?Negation is a universal linguistic phenomenon for almost all the languages in the world. Which is an important composition of any language, but different languages have various ways to express negation, which are reflected not only in the use of negative words but also in different structures of negation. So if we want to translate English to Chinese well we must carefully and thoroughly study negation, and then to explore their translating methods only by this way can we translate it to Chinese correctly.?Ⅱ.Significance of Research English Negation in English-Chinese Translation
