It not only offers us more time to get rid of tiredness and have a good rest, but also gives us more chances to take up some hobbies, such as fishing, reading, or gardening. From these activities we can learn many things outside the classroom, which will add to our knowledge. 1 What is the topic? 2 What is the point? 3 Which is the thesis statement? How to make a POINT？ E.G. 请就我国高考制度的利弊发表自己的看法，用一句话概括自己的观点（in English, of course）。 The standards of a good point 1 Focused, that is, NOT TOO BROAD 2 Able to be developed and supported by your arguments 3 Must be your own view Generating Ideas The first steps in the writing process are the most crucial for developing a well-written unified paragraph. These steps are called Thought Lines. Taking the time to develop and focus your ideas will ensure good writing. Ideas for writing can be developed in three basic ways: freewriting, brainstorming, and journaling. Each technique helps you generate ideas on a broad topic. IMAGINATION! 观察 想象 好的作品 表达 英文写作的一般格式 正确使用大写字母 1．句子中直接引语的第一个字母要大写无论“某某说”一类的说明语是在句首还是在句尾。如：She said, It is unreasonable to do such a thing. 但当直接引语是一个句子的继续时，则不用大写字母。 如：It is unreasonable， she said，to expect such a thing． 2．表示学校里学科的名词的第一个字母一般用小写，但语言学科，如Chinese，English等、第一个字母则要大写。如果学科名词被看作是课程中的一项，或考试的一个项目，则第一个字母要大写。如下 面两句中的history的第一个字母分别用了大写和小写。 He is very interested in history． He passed in History but failed in Geometry. 3．表示亲属关系的普通名词有时专指某一个人，其作用相当于专有名词，这时第一个字母可用大写。如： We went to the hospital to Grandfather． What does it mean，Mother? 这类名词第一个字毋大写时，前面都无my或you
