But today it is considered to be a classic in the eyes of critics. Its author Emily Bronte is also immortal because of this work. This thesis tries to analyze the inheritage and transcendence of the Gothic elements in the novel. The thesis consists of five chapters. Chapter One introduction, describes Emily Bronte’s life experience and her only work Wuthering Heights, and introduces the traditional Gothic novels, and offers a brief narration of literature review of Wuthering Heights.
