The Influence of Chinese Negative Transfer on the Syntax of English Writing 汉语负迁移对英语写作中句法的影响  Abstract With the improvement of international communication, English has been playing a more and more important part in people’s daily lives. English,an international language,is used as the second language by Chinese to communicate with foreigners.But both Chinese and English have a long history and differences in the formation of words and sentences.Nowadays people who study English always say and write something which is totally not one hundred percent English.This kind of English is everywhere in our daily life.However,we just get used to it and can’t figure it out until it is pointed to be wrong.It is the mother tongue negative transfer in the second language that cause this situation.And the effect of mother tongue transfer in second language learning is always one of the key issues in linguists’ study.This thesis mainly analyzes the errors found in college students’ English writing compositions and summed up the influence of Chinese negative transfer on the syntax of students’ English writing.
