Methods A total of 2 8 neutropenic patients w ith gram-positive bacteri- al infections w ere treated w ith linezolid intravenousl . Clinical efficac and adverse effects w ere evaluated. Results T he rate of cure, marked improvement, improvement and failure w as 50% ( 14/ 2 8) , 2 8. 3% ( 8/ 28) , 7 . 1% ( 2/ 2 8) and 14 . 2 % ( 4/ 28) , respectivel . The clinical response rate was 78 . 6 % . The bacterial eradication rate was 78 . 6 % ( 21/ 2 8) . The incidence of drug- related adverse event w as 14 . 2 % ( 4/ 28) , including 7. 1% ( 2/ 28) clinical adverse reaction, such as d spepsia, and 7 . 1% ( 2/ 28) laborator abnormalit , such as transient thromboc topenia. Conclusions Linezolid is wel-l tolerated and effective in the treatment of gram-positive bacterial infections in neut ropenic patients. Key words: linezolid;
