Abstract For the ho e type changing with aser process parameters, a twodimensiona transient finit e mode with
characteristics of transmission and distribut ion of beam intensity for aser dri ing is estab ished. Numerica simu ation
research on the ho e dev e opment is done. The mode accounts for the spatia distribution of aser beam and the atent
heat of materia s phase transformation . The transient therma fie d and interface evo ution of the ho e are showed in
the computationa ana yses. The resu ts show that the depth of the ho e increases with the time of asermateria
interaction, with the dri ing v e ocity about 1 m/ s magnitude, whi e the ho e diameter changes itt e after the initia
increase.
