This research was focu sed on the zirconia hot pressing effect of adding variou s amount of TiN on the 14 50 2 .5 YSZ ceramics on microstructures and mechanical properties. TiN (10, 20, and 30 wt %) is added to 3 mol% yttria stabilized zirconia. The mixtures w er e h ot -p r e s s e d an d si n t er e d at 50 M P a an d 1,450 for 2 .5 h ou r s . We st u d ie d t h e microstructures of the mixtures and measured Y3+ Mg2+ t h eir elect r ical an d m ech an ical p r op er t ie s . Result s show that the TiN added to 3YSZ can suppress t-YSZ to m-YSZ phase transformation and suppress YSZ grain size. The TiN is similar TEM to that of Y3+ or Mg2+ that stabilizes tetragonal XRD and cubic structures to room temperature.
