By placing two concrete cylinders in the sodium chloride solution ( the concentration of sodium chloride is 5 by mass) , and the reinforcing steel is energized. The diversification of the galvanic reinforcing steel and ungalvanic reinforcing steel concrete cylinders is compared. The experimental data indicate that BOT DR can monitor the reinforcing steel corrosion caused outer concrete expansion process effectively, especially for the ununiform reinforcing steel corrosion, the variation pattern of concrete deformation in different regions of the cylinder is greatly reported by the BOTDR which demonstrates the superiority of the reinforcing steel corrosion monitoring by using of thedistributed monitoring method, and it is expected to bea new way of reinforcing steel corrosion monitoring.
