However, the current boundaries of the traditional firewall flaws exposed more and more, can not adapt to the new network applications. So far, the network firewall is an important element of security research, and data packet capture is a prerequisite for packet filtering firewall, the firewall based on Linux, is the improvement of the traditional firewall. This paper is Linux-based firewall for the study under, and Linux host-based personal firewall packet capture modules has been studied, focusing on the packet capture module of the structure, composition and function. First, the importance of information security and firewall were discussed, and gives a detailed breakdown of the firewall; then analyzes the Linux host-based personal firewall software and hardware platform for the overall design principles, and then discussed under Linux packet capture module structure and principle and details of their specific implementation steps.
