Teaching difficulties:
How to find the detailed information about table manners in the passage in the expected time.
Help students to learn Non-restrictive Attributive Clause.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in
1. T (teacher): Before class, I want to ask you some questions.
1) Have you been to a wedding party?
2) How can you behave politely at the wedding party?
3) What else table manners do you know in Chinese culture? How about in western culture?
(Ask individual students to answer the questions above)
2. S (students’ possible answers to western table manners): Using fork and knife…
T: Yes, but there are many table manners at a western dinner party! Are you interested in it?
S: Yes!
T: I know you all want to be a gentleman. Behaving politely can show you are well-educated . So today, we are going to learn western table manners.
Step 2 Presentation
1. Now, open your books and turn to page 38. What can you see from these two pictures?
2. T(teacher) raises two questions on the blackboard:
① What table manners does the text talk about?
② How does the text develop, in the order of time or in the order of content?
3. I will give you 7 minutes to go through this text, and then finish the second and the third question in post-reading

1. Check the answers in post-reading.
