M ethods C li ical a d m icroscop ic features w ere assessed i 47 patie ts w ith soft tissues GCT. Imm u oh istochem ical stai i g for S100, NSE, CD68 a d K i 67 was co ducted. Results Fem ale had m ore prevale ce tha m ale. To gue was them ost commo ly affected orga . H istologically, the lesio s co s isted of polygo al cells w ith abu da t, gra u lar cyto p lasm. Followup showed atypical GCT had h igher pote tial recurre ce a d pote cy ofm alig a t tra sform atio . Imm u oh istochem ical a alysis showed that 100% of gra u lar cells had m oderated or stro g stai i g of S100, euro specific e olase ( NSE) a d CD68. Nu clear expressio ofK i67 was very low i be ig a d o recurre t typ icalGCT, but w as sig ifica tly i creased duri g GCT recurre ce a d w ith m alig a t tra sform atio . Conclusions The majority ofGCTs are be ig , o ly a few havem alig a t pote tial. Be ig GCT has low er proliferatio activity. Followup is ecessary to m o itor tum or recurre ce a d m alig a t tra sform atio .
