2011 Academic and Teaching Seminar on Electronic Information Sciences of Higher Vocational Education (2011SEHVE) Research on Learning Environment Building of Distance Education Based on Cloud Computing Li NIU, Ke CHEN, Jinxiang LI Department of Computer Engineering, Suzhou Vocational University, Suzhou, China, 215104 Abstract: This paper presents the current situation and shortages existing in distance education at present, elaborates the concepts and advantages of cloud computing and complementary education of cloud computing, and puts forward the distance education based on cloud computing is the development direction of modern distance education. And then it designs the architecture scheme of distance education services platform based on cloud computing, and analyzes the functions of every architecture layer and the system operation process. At last, it discusses the strategies and factors of learning environment building based on distance education cloud computing. Compared with traditional distance education, the distance education based on cloud computing is able to fully integrate the existing resources, realize the efficient resources sharing, greatly save the distance education costs and facilitate innovative education of low carbon.
