Influence of Gas Turbine Performance on t he Profitability
of Combined Cycle Power Plants

Abstract: Thermoflex software is used for simulating gas turbines with different pressure ratios and turbine inlet
temperatures and also for simulating gas turbine combined cycle power plants. Gas turbine maintenance cost coefficients
have been used for calculating the profitability of power plants equipped with different gas turbines. The case of rising
prices of natural gas is being discussed. The influence of cost and maintenance expenditure s increase, for cases of gas
turbines with higher inlet temperature, on the power plant s profitability is being analyzed. Results indicate that a
combined cycle power plant s profitability doesn t unconditionally increases with using gas turbines of higher inlet
