ABSTRACT: To ensure the interconnection, IEEE 1588
intercommunication and stable time synchronization among [2](precision time protocol
intelligent devices form different manufacturers, which PTP)s IEEE 1588
support IEEE 1588 precision time protocol, it is extremely [1]
necessary to perform IEEE 1588 protocol conformance test for
these devices. After a brief introduction to IEEE C37.238-2011
standard profile, i.e., the Power System PTP Profile, a method 1 s
for IEEE 1588 conformance test is proposed; the required test IEEE 1588[3]
structure is analyzed and the testing process based on test cases IEEE 1588 [4]
is described. The detailed description on the contents of IEEE
1588 conformance test are given, and the key points in the
IEEE 1588
implementation of IEEE 1588 protocol conformance test are
summarized.
