Abstract: The l rge-sc le model test proves th t the rigidity of fr me
structure with l rge thick r ft found tion is pproxim tely equ l to the
rigidity of box found tion. When the r tio of the thickness of r ft nd
the sp n of the column is bigger th n 1/ 6, the results c lcul ted by in-
verted be m method gree w ith th t by glob l n lysis method. Using
the comput tion method of cont ct pressure nd settlement cted by
the loc l lo d, nd then dopting the superposition principle, the settle-
ment of the l rge thick r ft found tion under sever l t ll building c n
be obt ined.
