The esults of f ee vib ation analysis show that to sion will be easy to be the fi st modal shape of the system, which has p ope ties of the low atio of building height to plana dimensions and the la ge gy ation adius of mass. Fo the to sion- coupled system, both eccent icity €e and f equency atio 8 a e impo tant design pa amete s. Fo the system with small eccent icity, whethe 8 [ 0175 o 8 \1125, the seismic to sion esponses will be g eatly educed. As the eccent icity €e being la ge , the modal shape will be coupling each othe , especially when 8 = 1. It is easonable fo the tall buildings to stipulate that the to sional modal shape must not be the fi st one to educe the to sion esponses, because the fi st modal shape will be t anslational, when it is well designed. Howeve , it may not be necessa y to cont ol the o de of the modal shapes fo the stadium-type buildings with out igge st uctu es. Thei dynamic behavio should be estimated by using the design pa amete s, such as eccent icity, f equency atio, late al stiffness, to sion displacement atio, and so on.
