And not putting on a suit in the morning appears to have had an effect on the career of some British workers. ? One in seven (14 percent) feel they have missed out on promotion by dressing down. ? The average man now spends ￡193 a year on office clothes, the study by menswear retailer Jacamo found.? ?Eight in ten men (82 percent) do not wear a suit and tie anymore. ?
