This time of year was often associated with human death. 塞爾特人選在每年11月1日慶祝新年，正值夏天結束，冬天剛開始的時節多半讓人聯想到黑暗的死亡。 The Celts believed that on the night before the new year, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead became blurred as the dead searched for the afterlife.
