The U.S. government regards their small and medium-sized enterprises as backbone of the U.S. economy, Japan acknowledged that without the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, there is no Japanese economic prosperity. In the main developed countries, small and medium-sized enterprises account for more than 90% of all companies, 50-80% of the employment population is employed by small and medium-sized enterprises. In China, small and medium-sized enterprises accounted for about 99% of the total number of national enterprises, 60% of industrial output, profit tax of 60% , 75% of the employment population, 60% of sales revenue. Small and medium-sized enterprises are playing an increasingly important role in the socialist market economy with Chinese characteristics as an important social and economic power. However, in the global financial crisis is gradually transformed into economic crisis, in China, small and medium-sized enterprises are in serious trouble. Exploring how to deal with the difficulty of small and medium-sized enterprises, and promoting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, is of vital important in promoting our country labor employment and achieving faster and better development of national economy and the comprehensive construction of a harmonious society is of great significance. On the basis of a large number of articles, I summarize this article into three parts: the importance of small and medium-sized enterprises to the national economy, small and medium-sized enterprises of institutional barriers, and meet some difficulties in development and seek some measures on the development of small enterprises.
