A ccording to the p rob lem s of low efficien t, short service life and low core recovery in coalm ea sure s soft and hard m u ltiin terbeded form ation ( 3～8 degree) , the p ap er pu t forward a design w ith strengthen ing radiu s retention structure, imp roving the water circu lation and advancing auxiliary cu tting teeth. 77mm PDC b it wa s de signed and m anufactured, and good app lication effect wa s ach ieved in the exp loration borehole No. 3 of Tonghua coal m ine in Q ij iang Coun ty of Chongqing.
