英汉照应衔接手段差异及其其对翻译的启示——《名利场》及其其译本的研究.doc

南京航空航天大学硕士学位论文 摘　要　 近年来，衔接理论研究引起中外学者越来越多的关注。衔接是句 子组成语篇的主要手段，它可以使语言成为一个有机的整体, 被称为 语篇的“有形网络”，因而在语篇翻译中有着举足轻重的作用。照应 衔接作为重要的衔接手段之一，同样在语篇翻译中占用重要的地位， 应该引起译者足够的重视。 以前的学者在衔接领域的研究侧重于对英汉语衔接手段的对比 研究，把衔接理论运用于翻译之后，虽然在照应衔接手段翻译方面提 出了一些有借鉴意义的翻译方法与技巧，但大多较为零散，鲜有较为 系统的论述。 本文的研究目的为：通过对 William Makepeace Thackeray 的经典 名著《名利场》及杨必先生的中文译本进行研究，运用衔接理论中关 于照应衔接手段的相关知识，采用定量与定性分析相结合的方法，对 英汉两种语言在照应衔接手段方面的差异进行比较分析论证，并据此 对照应衔接手段的翻译策略进行较为系统的论述，对英汉翻译研究具 有一定的借鉴意义。 全文共分为五个部分。第一部分是引言，主要论述本文的研究目 标，研究方法以及谋篇布局。第二部分介绍了衔接理论和照应衔接的 发展历程，以及篇章翻译和衔接连贯之间的紧密关系。第三部分是本 文所使用的理论框架。第四部分以英文小说《名利场》及杨必先生的 中译本为研究素材，运用衔接理论中关于照应的相关知识，通过数据 i 英汉照应衔接手段差异及其对翻译的启示--《名利场》及其译本的研究　 分析与大量实例相结合研究了英汉照应衔接手段的差异，对照应衔接 手段的翻译方法进行较为系统的论述。第五部分为结论部分。 关键词：照应衔接，人称照应，指示照应，比较照应，《名利场》, 翻 译启示 ii 南京航空航天大学硕士学位论文 Abstract In recent years, the study of cohesion theory has been rich and rewarding, and the prospects for moving forward seem exciting and enchanting. M. A. K. Halliday who is considered as the one making the greatest contribution to the development of cohesion theory points out that cohesion occurs where the interpretation of some element in the text is dependent on that of another. Cohesion is an indispensable element in creating a logical and fluent text and therefore plays a significant role in text translation. Reference, as an important cohesive device and a primary text- forming component in both English and Chinese linguistic systems, accordingly should be paid much emphasis in text translation as well. In preparation for this thesis, the author observed that the previous researches on cohesion theory mainly focused on the different characteristics of cohesive devices between English and Chinese. When the theory of cohesion is applied into translation studies, some translation methods and techniques are provided, but not in a systematic way.
