Resu lts show ed that the content of bixin in annatto seeds in xishuangbanna w as 112%. Extracting cond itions of 100- g levelw ere as follow s: ethyl acetate w as the solvent, the ratio of raw material to solventw as 1: 3, the temperature w as 0 e , the tmi e w as 20m in and extracting for 3 tmi es. On th is cond ition, the extracting rate of bixin w as ( 85 ? 1)% . The cond ition of optmi um purification w as stand ingw ith etha- nol solution at 5 e for 315 h, and the crystal of bixin w as obtained, its content w as 9813 % , color scalew as 28217, the crystal ratew as 90% and the recrystal ratew as 8313% .
