Some products are sold in either a consumer-size pack or a larger box or case. Some merchants build displays using box or case lots of goods to create the impression they have made an extra-large purchase of a certain item, presumably at a lower price per unit that is being passed on to the consumer. (1) Enclose the materials, both to protect them and protect other items from them. (2) Restrain them from undesired movements within the container when the container is in transit.
