With the boiling of the intestine tissue, acetic acid e traction, alginic acid adsorption, hydrochloric acid elution, sodium chloride salting out and the ethanol precipitation, follow ed by Sephade G25 ( fine) column chromatography and a tw ostep reversephase HPLC purification, a thermostable pep tide has been purified and its molecular size w as determined about 4 kD by using the TrisTricineSDS PAGE. After the digestion of the peptide with trypsin and the separation of the trypsinpeptide, one of the fragments subjected to sequence w ith CapLCESIMSM S ( QT OF2) and a clear amino acid sequence was obtained as follow ing: TEYTALNVLATTEENG. By searching the sequence from Gene Bank and SWISSPORT , it has been found that the peptide is a novel peptide. The physiology function of the peptide deserves to be further investigated.
