Objective To a alyze the MRI characters of Charcot joi t, a d to evaluate the diag ostic value of Xray, CT, a d MRI o Charcot joi t. Methods Eight patie ts with 8 Charcot joi ts u derwe t Xray, CT, a d MR exami atio s. 6 of them had syri gomyelia, 1 patie t had i jury of the spi al cord, a d 1 case had diabetes. All 8 patie ts had se sory reductio or deficit i the sick extremities. Results There were two types of Charcot joi t, hypertrophic a d atrophic. Radiographic a d CT features of hypertrophic joi t ( n = 3) showed hyperostotic osteosclerosis a d mammoth osteophytes i the sick bo es, periarticular ossificatio , a d articular disorga izatio . Radiographic a d CT features of atrophic joi t ( n = 5) showed exte sive bo e resorptio ( destructio ) , periarticular debris, a d articular disorga izatio . Mai MRI features of Charcot joi t i cluded hydrarthrosis withi joi t capsule, thicke ed, loose, a d elo gated joi t capsule with parajoi t, peri diaphysis, a d i termuscular exte sio i a pseudopodia patter .
