1望城正式成为长沙第6城区7月6日，望城区滨水新城核心区城市规划出台，由此望城作为长沙第6区建设序幕拉开。望城区委书记黄佳惠激情描绘未来的新望城：凸显山水特色，城市建设与产业发展协调联动，人文景观与自然风光融为一体，城市功能与城市形态完美结合，将望城建设成一个省会名副其实的新城区。该区将以境内278平方公里的滨江新城建设作为突破口，5到10年内，不仅将其打造成为望城的新城市中心、大河西先导区的核心板块，而且将成为长沙的生态TBD（都市旅游商务区）。该区今后5年将在11个乡镇中精心打造一批旅游文化名镇、生态风情小镇，以名镇推动城市化。Wangcheng Declares the Sixth District of Changsha City The Urban Planning on the Core Area of Binshui New Town of Wangcheng County was issued on July 6, which serves as a prelude to building Wangcheng into the sixth district of Changsha City. Huang Jiahui, secretary of the CPC Wangcheng County Committee, stated that the future Wangcheng deserves to be turned into a new district of Changsha City with characteristic landscape, coordination of urban construction and industrial development, integration of cultural landscape and natural scenery and perfect combination of urban function and form. The Binshui New Town, covering 278 square kilometers, will be built into the new center of Wangcheng, the core area of the Changsha Pioneering District on the West of Xiangjiang River as well as the ecological TBD (Tourism Business District) of Changsha within 5 to 10 years.
