Abstract: The variatio n of relev ant phenotypic char acteri tic of E ly mus nutans clonal populatio n under
different treatment ha been re earched, u ing f ield inv e tig ation and indoor analy i . The re ult how ed
that gra land degradation i m ore eriou , and the relevant phenotypic param eter of E. nutans clo nal pop
ulatio n decr ea e ignificantly w ith the increa e of gra land age. In co mpari on, the enclo ure can increa e
the capacity of ex ual repro duction of E . nutans population . How ever, the treatment of f ertilization or re
eeding can ignif icantly improve vegetative grow th of E . nutans clonal population. T here are ig nif icant in
crea e for plant height , num ber of tiller and clu ter number per g enet , w hile relatively low er repro ductive
capacity of the pecie in the tw o tr eatment . It i ugg e ted that for the clonal plant w ith better phenotypic
pla ticity , E. nutans population adopt v ar iou repro ductive and urviv al trateg ie to different tr eatment in
the hard area of nor thern T ibet plateau
