New Progress in the Determination of Avogadro Constant

Abstract To determ ine the Avogadro constant is an approch to arrive at an experimental redef inition of kilogram in terms of
atomic masses. The history , progress and trend of determinating Avogadro constant are reported . Avogadro constant is a bridge be-
tween the m icroscopic scale and the m acroscopic scale, and is also a frontier topic of scientific research . In the process of the de-
term ination of Avogadro constant , p eople make use of the periodicity and perfection of the structure of the silicon single crystal,
and can improve atom ic w eight measurem ent , solid density measurement , nano- level m easurem ent , as w ell as preparation and
characterization of silicon crystal at the highest accuracy.
