Abstract ：This paper gives an overview of existing types and methods for automatic examination paper marking in Office.Relative to the marking methods by recording and analyzing of operation ’s steps，the marking methods adopted widely by analyzing to re－ sulting documents ，which don ’t include some problems from bad adaptability and defective judgment ，have obvious advantages.An automatic examination paper marking method based on COM automation technology ，which can overcome some shortcoming （e.g. difficult programming ，slow speed ，limit in type of document）consisting in other methods ，is addressed.The logic workframe of an automatic word paper marking system designed based on COM automation technology is introduced.Meanwhile the describing of algorithm about the system components and the defining of forming syntax to configuration file are given.As an example ，main technologies in implementation aiming at configuration tool of testing parameters are introduced.
