Runs on Win2k, XP or 2003 Operational reporting saves your administrators time, by sending directly to them reports on TSM. Operational reporting draws its information from the TSM database to create 3 types of reports (based on best practices). The reports can be customized to meet your needs, or used as they are right out of the box. There is a daily report that is sent every day to your admin. It reports on things like the amount of files backed up, missed backups, the number of tapes available…. There is a report that can be automatically sent to any computers who’s backup failed. The third type of report is generated any time a particular condition (like low on backup tapes, or a tape drive is offline) is met. Reports can be viewed as email, desk top alerts, pages, the TSM Microsoft Management console or exported to a website. Operational reporting is another “for-free” function of TSM. Tivoli Storage Manager does more than backup data.
