Numerical Simulation of College Dormitory Fire Based on FDS

Abstract:A large number of college students live together intensively, so there are many hidden dangers.
Students life safety and property safety are threatened by dormitory fire.The key of putting out fire and
evacuating people is to grasp the changes of the important parameters in the fire.T he FDS (Fire Dynamic
Simulator )software developed by the U.S.National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST )is
used to build a model house in college and simulate the model dormitory fire in full-size.The law of the
smoke movement and the changes of vertical temperature and oxygen concentration in the course of fire is
given through experiments.
