Analysis of Web Services Performance and Research on Its Optimization

Abstract W eb ser ices is a kind of mainstream in heterogeneous network en ironment of distributed application. Due to
XMLbased format data transfer, Web ser ice has ad antages with its CrossPlatform, looselycoupled and good operation,
but it also brings performance issue. W eb ser ices performance is one of t he key in deciding w hether it can be more w idely
used to further or not. This paper analyzes the performance of Web ser ices, focus on t he addit ional performance o erhead
issues of Web ser ices, illustrates how to use caching technology, SOAP compression technology and asynchronous calls
strategy to optimize Web ser ice performance, with example in. NET platform.
