Abstract: Aimed at exhaustion of shallow coal resources of local mining district in Hongyang coal field in Liaon-
ing Province, through study of development regularities of structure and evolution history in the coal field, inter-
pretation of oil and gas seismic exploration data, recovery of balanced section and other techniques and methods,
the paper predicted the occurrence of coal resources in great depth and peripheral areas of the coal field, prospec-
tive areas for exploration and development as well as amount of coal resources. T
