In a paper published in Vol. 29, No. 5 issue of Mineral Deposits, Mr. Zhang Qi put forward a series of new ideas concerning the relationship betw een adakite and AuCu/ WSn mineralization. In this paper, the au thor has advanced some different view s on the definition of adakite, the proper scope for the usage of YbSr dia gram and the validity of adakite in prospecting. The research on ore deposits must be built on steady field work and comprehensive analysis. One basic principle of ore deposits research is to combine the field w ork and compre hensive analysis w ith experiments and tests.
