Pag. 2 20 DANIELI 1 PURPOSE The purpose of this specification is to be a tool for the correct comparison between European materials and the worldwide available options. This is the instrument for choose the correct materials for the DANIELI machines that shall be manufactured in Asia. 2 ABBREVIATIONS STD DAN= DANIELI Standard + A = Soft Annealed +AC = Annealed to achieve spheroidzed carbides +C = Cold work hardened +QT = Quenched and tempered +SH = As rolled and turned +H = Normal Hardenability requirements +HH Restricted Hardenability scatter bands requirements +HL Restricted Hardenability scatter bands requirements 3 FIELD OF APPLICATION Every European material is associated with one or more alternatives (e.g. China, U.S.A.). The comparison has been carried out mainly on the basis of chemical analysis and mechanical properties. The following tables shall be considered with attention, since they include: - requirements to be added on purchase order, since they are missing or are not clear in the alternative material Standard, in order to comply with design requirements. If the alternative materials listed in the following tables are equivalent to the European materials or if they may become equivalent with additional requirements in the Purchase Order (see the relevant column) a formal derogation issued by the relevant technical office IS NOT REQUIRED.
