Abstract：TheflorasofthemainlandAsiahavebeenstudiedformorethanthreehundredyears，however，theyarestill
incomplete．Progressontheconifersflorasfrom themainlandAsia，arelativelywellstudiedgroup，isstilllessthan
expected．ThemajordifferencesamongthedifferentflorasinmainlandAsia，especiallycomparedwiththeworld
checklistofconifers，areanalysedanddiscussed；andtherelatedaspectsinthetraditionaltaxonomyfrom mainlandA—
siaarealsoaddressed．
